About

Professional life

Having graduated from university with a 2:1 BSc degree in Astrophysics, I took some time out to travel and reflect before embarking on a career. My life in accountancy started in 2003, working at one of the larger practices in the Scarborough area.

Here I developed a wide ranging body of experience of all aspects of the profession, whilst studying towards my ACCA qualification, which I attained in 2009. I gained my ACCA practising certificate in 2012 and started to build up a portfolio of my own clients, whilst continuing to broaden my accountancy knowledge and skills working part time at a smaller Scarborough based practice.

Edward Milnes Chartered Certified Accountancy became a full time reality in 2015.

Personal life

I am a keen athlete, spending much of my spare time pounding the mean streets of Scarborough and cycling through the surrounding countryside, in preparation for upcoming marathons and bike races. When the weather isn’t so good you’ll find me training at the gym.

As well as my extreme exercise regime, I also enjoy spending time with my dog and friend for life Spencer, as well as cooking and baking (and devouring the fruits of my labour!).
